The year is 1885, and Ember McClain returns home from a trip to Chicago only to learn that her father's health is failing. Determined to secure her future, he gives her an ultimatum: marry- or return to the city to live with her aunt and uncle. For a spirited country girl like Ember, life in the city feels unbearable, and marriage doesn't seem like such a bad  alternative- until her father forbids her to marry the man she loves.

With her fiery red hair and equally fiery temper, Ember's world soon fills with both laughter and heartbreak as she wrestles with the impossible choice before her: obey her dying father's wishes or follow her heart. When the man she loves refuses to accept her father's decision, Ember finds herself torn between loyalty, love, and faith- and left pleading with God for wisdom to make the right choice.

AUTHOR’S BACK STORY

I wrote this story for my daughter, Hannah, while she was battling brain cancer. It was simply meant for entertainment since she was unable to get out very much. My daughter, Joy , loved the story so much that she pleaded with me to publish. After much encouragement from friends and family, I finally did it! It is a fun Christian Romance that is full of laughter and tears. The book is available in both Kindle and Paperback, so I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did!
